1. INTRODUCTION
This Privacy Policy explains how the BSEB app ("App") handles information when you use it.
 
The App is designed to work offline and process Bihar board result QR data on your device.
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
 
2. SUMMARY
- The App does not require account registration.
- The App does not run ads.
- The App does not use analytics or tracking SDKs.
- The App does not intentionally send your scanned result data to external servers.
- Result and scan data are processed and stored locally on your device.
 
3. INFORMATION THE APP PROCESSES
When you scan a QR code, the App may process:
- Encrypted QR text contained in the scanned code.
- Decrypted student result details, such as student name, father name, roll code, roll number, registration number, college name, faculty, marks, division, and related exam fields embedded in the QR payload.
- Scan metadata, such as scan time.
 
This data is used only to show results, generate PDFs, and provide scan history features in the App.
 
4. INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
The App stores data locally on your device for functionality, including:
- Recent scan history (limited list).
- Last scan timestamp.
- Generated/downloaded PDF result files.
- Temporary files used for sharing/printing workflows.
- Decrypted result debug files in app storage and/or external app-accessible storage (for example: decrypted_result.json, decrypted_result_pretty.json), depending on platform behavior and app configuration.
 
Important:
- Local files remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the App.
- If you share a PDF using your device share sheet, data is sent only to the destination app/service you select.
 
5. PERMISSIONS USED
The App may request the following permissions to function:
 
5.1 Camera
- Purpose: Scan QR codes from marksheets/results.
 
5.2 Storage / Files / Photos and Media (platform dependent)
- Purpose: Save generated PDF results and manage files.
- On Android, download flows may use public Downloads and app storage paths.
 
The App does not use these permissions for background surveillance, contact harvesting, or unrelated profiling.
 
6. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE
The App does not sell your personal data.
The App does not share your data with advertising networks.
The App does not share your scanned/decrypted result data with analytics services.
 
Data may leave your device only when you explicitly initiate an action, such as:
- Sharing a PDF with another app.
- Printing through system or connected print services.
 
Any handling of shared data by third-party apps/services is governed by their own privacy policies.
 
7. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS
The App uses third-party libraries for core app features (for example QR scanning, PDF generation, printing, local storage, and sharing).
These libraries are integrated for on-device functionality.
 
At the time of this policy update, the App is intended for offline operation and does not intentionally collect analytics or ad identifiers through these integrations.
 
8. NETWORK USAGE
The App is intended to function offline for scanning, decrypting, viewing, and exporting results.
No intentional upload of result payload data is performed by the App as part of normal operation.
 
9. LOGGING AND DIAGNOSTICS
The App may generate local technical logs for debugging and reliability checks.
Depending on build type and runtime behavior, these logs may include QR/decryption processing details.
 
These logs are not intended for external transmission by the App.
If you use debugging tools, connected development environments, or manually share logs/files, that sharing is user-controlled.
 
10. DATA RETENTION
Retention is primarily user-controlled because data is stored locally.
Data is kept until:
- You delete scan history within the App (where available),
- You delete saved files from device storage, or
- You clear app data/uninstall the App.
 
11. SECURITY
The App applies reasonable measures for local processing and file handling.
 
12. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The App is a utility app for exam result viewing and is not directed to children under 13 for independent data collection services.
The App does not knowingly collect personal data from children through remote servers.
 
13. YOUR CHOICES AND CONTROLS
You can:
- Deny camera/storage permissions (some features may not work).
- Remove locally stored result history.
- Delete generated PDFs and debug files from your device.
- Uninstall the App to remove app-local data (subject to platform backup behavior).
